Cider from the heart
On North Funen, near the sea, forest and meadow, lies Gyldensteen. The mild and coastal climate gives our apples a perfect balance between acid and sweetness – characters that can be tasted in our cider. The products from Gyldensteen are produced by Count Peter Bernstorff and his wife Nynne, with an equal share of international views and respect for Gyldensteen’s proud traditions. It started with must in 2007 and since then more products have been added. “To travel is to live”, a well-known Fynbo once claimed, and with their travels the couple has lived by the quote, though always with the roots firmly planted in the Funen mule – in the heart of Denmark. Our craft cider is a sophisticated alternative to wine. Compared to a glass of champagne, our cider only contains 1/3 as much alcohol. Both variants have been developed in collaboration with Michelin chefs and sommeliers. Produced in Denmark, with Danish raw materials and with roots in 300 years of Danish history.
